Catalogue of Woodmere 2025 Yearlings

Eleven Woodmere Yearlings are consigned to the Atlantic Classic Sale October 10, 2025 11:30am AST

These yearlings are all pastured in the main field close to the road. Yearlings are available to view on the farm until Tuesday Oct 7 and then at the sale grounds in Crapaud. Yearlings are all microchipped, gelded, vaccinated and boostered with Vetera 5XP, and dewormed. Any yearlings with visible joint effusion were screened for OCD and any fragments identified were surgically removed; these will be mentioned in each yearling's blurb. Yearlings will sell with no reserves and no 'bid ins'. The pedigree links underneath each yearling's heading below will provide the most in depth and up to date information available, more so than in the catalogue.

Lot 1 Woodmere Sinner

Gelding
Malicious x Sinspirational
With only 4 colts by perennial sire champion Malicious in the sale, Sinner will represent an opportunity to get a jump on the competition before everyone gets seated. Sinner is one of our top colts of 2025, well proportioned perhaps a bit thicker made colt than Sinspirational’s first 2, we’re hoping Malicious on top of this deep pedigree will get the sale started. As is usually the case, someone is going to commit the SIN of stealing Lot#1!
Sinner had OCD removed from his left and right hocks April 7, 2025.

Lot 6 Woodmere Twigs

Filly
Blood Money x Very Ideal Hanover
Named after a Royal Winter Fair Grand Champion, Twigs comes from our best producing mare Very Ideal Hanover. Very Ideal is not only the dam of Stealdeal but also dam of 7 foals of racing age who have all been ‘A’ colts or fillies; 6 of the 7 have won in 1:55.2 or better including 2 better than ‘53. Stealdeal still owns or shares 6 track records from his 2 and 3 year campaigns. Twigs is a racey looking filly, medium sized with a little extra length like most of the others from Very Ideal. Blood Money has busted off the gait with his first crop so it will be exciting to see what this cross can accomplish from a 100% top producing mare. Twigs is the total package, while others wait, someone is going to ‘steal a deal’ early!

Lot 20 Woodmere Ringo

Filly
Flameproof Hanover x Persistent
There’s plenty of Captaintreacherous influence in this colt. A late foal that has the development of an early foal. What you should pull from the pedigree is the early speed on Ringo’s Western Ideal dam who has already produced winners of $1,000,000. Ringo’s brother Seeyou At Thebeach raced in the final of the Metro at 2 and the final of the Jug at 3. With Flameproof you are into the Somebeach line again for the first time since Seeyou At Thebeach!
Oh and if you’re wondering about Flameproof Hanover then stick to the stars. He sired the top 2 finishers in the Breeders Crown filly final last year; and from just 8 fillies and 5 colts, he has a winner in 53.1. When you see Ringo you’ll notice he’ll not get nosed out in a win photo…

Lot 32 Woodmere Teeter

Gelding
Flameproof Hanover x
Cougar Gal
Our 2nd Flameproof and another long muscular colt. This mating was made with reference to Red Right Hand, a Captaintreacherous out of Cougar Gal’s sister that has a mark of 1:48.1, and also Call Me Queen Be, a Somebeach that was a Breeders Crown Champion at 3 and made $1.4M. The cross works and Teeter has the conformation to make an impact.
When picturing and videoing Teeter, we noticed slight extra fluid in his left hock so we scanned him on Oct 1 and removed OCD on Oct 2.  He will sell on stall rest for another week til Oct 16 then go forward with normal post surgical recommendations. Teeter also had OCD removed from right hock and left hind fetlock in April. We’ve invested in him and someone is going to reap the benefits. Teeter is a beauty.

Lot 44 Woodmere Sniper

Gelding
Bet the Moon x Canard Hanover

First colt from our Somebeach mare Canard Hanover. We sought out Canard because of the proven success of crossing two of the best of all time, Bettors Delight and Somebeachcomewhere. Sniper’s 3 yr old sister, also by a Bettors Delight son has made over $77K this year taking a mark of 1:51. It’s almost like crossing 2 breeds of horses- the tall long rugged made Beach’s with the compact Bettor’s Delight’s. Sniper fits those expectations, a well proportioned eye catching colt with plenty of scale.
We won’t spend much time convincing anyone that Bet The Moon has lived up to our hopes, however we will point out that 3 of the 8 three yr old colts racing in the Breeders Crown on Sunday are sired by Bet as well as 2 of the 8 fillies in both the 2 and the 3 yr old divisions. We do believe that when we look back in a few years, Bet will have left a positive impact on the racetracks.

Lot 49 Woodmere Archie

Bet the Moon x Arc Light

First foal from the iron tough Arc Light. The page doesn’t get much better with great Maritime horses all down the page leading you to Bulldog Hanover! Archie has more length than height, moves well and should represent great value into a great family.

Lot 108 Woodmere Dougal

Gelding
Bet the Moon x Princess Rusty

An eye-catching brother to 2 yr old stakes winner Woodmere Kobe. Dougal is taller and perhaps more importantly, longer than many of the Bet The Moons. Princess Rusty was a stakes winner in 1.54.3 at 2 and seems set on transmitting her early speed. It’s a fact that offspring from Bet The Moon will sell at discounted prices, astute horsemen will see value in the right ones and Dougal in one one of them.
Dougal had OCD removed from his left hock on April 7, 2025.

Lot 114 Woodmere Pepper

Bet the Moon x The Time to Win

First foal from our Western Ideal mare The Time To Win. The Time To Win’s dam produced winners of over $1.5M. Pepper isn’t overly flashy but stands out for her correctness and tone. A beautiful filly to work with, Pepper comes from a family of talent

Lot 120 Woodmere Eras

Somewhere Fancy x
 Northern Fiesta
Lot # 120 is a long time to wait for what we consider to be one of the best colts we’ve loaded for Crapaud; but like his name sake, it will be worth the wait! Eras comes with built in swagger, his powerful shoulder make up carries back to the power end. He is the first colt from a mare we consider to be one of our top mares. If you scroll down the page you’ll find lots of past superstars but what you might miss is this year's superstar, LOUPRINT, on the bottom of the page. That's what greatest families do- they keep building pedigree! Add in one of the top sires to come along, Somewhere Fancy, Lot #120 should be a lot to mark 3 stars beside.

Lot 142 Woodmere Jewel

View sale pedigree
Filly
Somewhere Fancy x Western Jewel

Another beautiful Somewhere Fancy filly. From just 3 foals, her dam is a 100% producer with both her fillies racing sub 1:55, and both over $160K. Jewel has extra length, she has a racey look and will be a filly worth waiting for. In the pedigree, you’ll see how the Somebeach influence has worked well with the Somebeach horses Sailboat Hanover and Sansovina Hanover. With plenty of 2 yr old speed all down the page, Jewel will be an excellent opportunity late in the sale.

Lot 153 Woodmere Essa

View sale pedigree
Filly
Malicious x Collective Wisdom

A Malicious filly from Collective Wisdom, Essa comes from a family of champions. Her 2 yr old brother Novak has shown plenty of promise. Wisdom was a winner in '52 at 3 yrs old  and comes from the same family as Michaels Power, Luck of Michelle and Cams Card Shark. With the Maritime campion sire Malicious on the top of a deep pedigree, Essa has the genetic base to a top A filly!
